The only exception is redistribution to consultants working for the licensee, and then only for purposes related to licensee's business. Reproduction or redistribution of hard copies of copyrighted datasets is permitted under the following conditions:

Any hard copies utilizing DNR digital WWI datasets shall clearly indicate their source and copyright. If the licensee has modified the data in any way whatsoever, they are obligated to describe the types of modifications they have performed on the hardcopy map. Any altered graphic elements shall be clearly symbolized to distinguish them from the original DNR digital WWI data. Licensee specifically agrees not to misrepresent the DNR digital WWI data, nor to imply that changes they made were approved by the DNR, unless specific written permission is received from the Department's Wisconsin Wetland Inventory Staff. It is a violation of this agreement to post the wetland information for viewing on the World Wide Web or to sell the data outside the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.</useconst>

<procdesc>Dataset was created for the sole purpose of finding wetland acreage.
Wetland boundaries, dammed ponds, and excavated ponds were drafted on to a stable-based mylar using opaque black ink. Each mylar basemap represents one Public Land Survey Township and covers 36 square miles. The mylars are a photo mosaic of the 21 photos that cover one township. The scale of the mylars is 1:24000. These mylars are not orthophotos and have relief displacement inherent in the photos. This caveat hinders the dataset if the end-user desires to use the dataset with other GIS datasets.
The vector dataset was created by digitizing features using a table top digitizer. Wetland complexes were stored in a polygon layer and the wetlands less then 2 or 5 acres (based on year), dammed ponds and excavated ponds were stored in a point layer. Ground control was obtained from common road intersections visible on both the mylars and from USGS topographic maps. The wetland polygon and point layers were then transformed into the Wisconsin Transverse Mercator coordinate system using an affine transformation from within Arc/Info.
Descriptive Arc/Info items were added to each polygon and point coverage. Both layers were then labeled and coded accordingly. Wetland acreage was computed for each wetland by type and class for each township and then by county.
Wetland boundaries along township borders were not edge matched due to the fact that the original mylars were not ortho-rectified. Wetland acreage was not dependent on having orthophotography.</procdesc>
